for the many organisms you'll see there.

ecological environment and would like to help preserve healthy waterways
area, the City's Adopt-A-Waterway program is perfect for you.
A commitment to keeping an adopted stretch of waterway clean several
times a year can make a significant improvement in flood control, while
improving the habitat for aquatic life. You'll be joining other
committed service groups and individuals who help our community through
A Waterway program, as well as our Adopt
A Street, Adopt
A Park and Walk
the Water initiatives.
And on a similar note: Our
Adopt A Street
Program seeks volunteers to commit to cleaning an adopted street in our
community four times a year. The streets chosen would be those that
positive visual impact in our neighborhoods while maintaining a safe
environment for our volunteers. Duties would include:
Monitoring garbage placed by
outside normal pickup schedule
Yard trimmings in the street
Storm drain inlets flowing
Grease/oil Stains on the
Signals or signs that need
This effort will greatly enhance
image. Equipment is provided free to volunteers and you will be
your efforts with the placement of signs on your adopted street.
An Environmental Education
is needed to help monitor water quality in area waterways, assisting at
schools with watersmart projects and in environmental education efforts,
installing storm water marker buttons, and speaking to neighborhood and
groups about the value of environmental awareness. Click here for

Come share you care and
concern for stray
and abandoned animals at the Pasadena Animal Shelter. Volunteers are
Monday through Saturday to assist with walking animals, fostering pets
helping with animal adoptions among other needs. If you'd like to help
administrative duties instead, they also would welcome a clerical
volunteer in the Shelter office.
Be a part of the action
as an Emergency Operations
Center Volunteer. You'll be located at the Police Department
Jeff Ginn Blvd., with the assignment to assist with answering phones and
duties as needed during emergency events. Training will be
Our Madison Jobe Senior Center is seeking
volunteer assistance with answering

Casino Fridays volunteers
to help staff the very popular games that
Madison Jobe Senior Center presents
each week. Deal yourself in on fun as you run blackjack, five card draw
seven card stud games using play money. Volunteers must be at least 21
age and have completed a volunteer application.
Parks and Recreation
Department is seeking volunteers to Adopt a Park. Similar to
our Adopt a Street and Adopt a Waterway programs, volunteers are
asked to help
maintain their adopted park four times per year.We will provide all the

Enforcement Surveyor- Community Development Department

Survey assigned areas citywide for code
violations using checklist spreadsheet. On-going code enforcement
surveys to be
performed regularly to ensure code compliance citywide. City vehicle

office work, data entry in word program and excel program, answering
greeting the public.
Love animals? Clerical
assistance is needed as well as greeting customers, assisting with
intake, entering information into the computer and answering questions
animals at the City's Animal Shelter on Burke from 10am-noon each

rights-of-way around Pasadena. You will be trained and provided
and you should be comfortable working outdoors for this service.
Visitors to City
Hall need directions to offices and general information about services
there. Your volunteer service at our Information Booth in the City
lobby will help us speed visitors on their way.
Teenage volunteer for Central
library youth department
There are ten computers for children under 13's
use that are very busy every afternoon. A teenage volunteer is
assist children on computers, preferably between 3 PM and 6 PM.
Volunteer assistance is needed with making copies and
putting together mailouts. Hours are Monday thru Friday 8am-noon and
Central Library Coffee
Volunteer is needed Monday thru Saturday from 10am-11am to
manage the Friends bookstore coffee cart. They will be giving away
complimentary coffee to library patrons.
Works training and vehicle is provided for the
following needs areas:
Industrial Storm Water
Inspections (teams of two) - visual
observation of facility exteriors and determine if there is a
storm water pollution.
Construction Erosion Control
Inspections - teams of two
inspect construction sites each week.
Outfall Screening (dry and wet
weather) - teams of two
monitor the outfalls in all six bayous.
Complaints - will accompany the
certified storm water inspector once weekly and check and review
received from citizens.
