Today, visitors and Pasadenians can get a glimpse of the city's rich
history by visiting Heritage Park and Museum. Guests can tour the
historic Pomeroy House and Strawberry House, view distinctive antiques
and memorabilia from the area's first settlers, and hear the amazing
stories of perseverance and commitment that helped build Pasadena into
the strong, thriving city that it is today.
With
a population of more than 141,000, Pasadena is Texas' 15th largest
city. We've come a long way from our roots as a small agricultural
outpost just over a century ago. Today, our city's attractions include
Galveston Bay, NASA's Johnson Space Center, the Port of Houston and one
of the world's largest refining and chemical manufacturing complexes.
However, many people overlook one of the most important elements of
Pasadena's rich heritage. Pasadena is the actual birthplace of free
Texas.
