The Special Weapons and Tactics team (SWAT) consists of officers who are highly trained in special weapons, tactics, less lethal options, gas delivery, and unarmed arrest techniques.
Crisis Negotiation Team
The Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), working closely with the SWAT team as a specialized unit formed to deal directly with individuals in a state of crisis in order to safely and effectively resolve the situation. Each team member receives one training day each month and at least two joint exercises with the SWAT team each year.
The CNT continues to work with neighboring cities in the continued training of negotiators throughout the area.
