Pat Van Houte was born in Syracuse NY and moved to Cleveland Ohio at age 7. She attended Michigan State University, receiving a BS in Psychology. She came to Texas in 1976 to attend the University of Houston Clear Lake, earning an MA in Behavioral Sciences. She moved to her current address in Pasadena in 1980.
Ms Van Houte worked for the Texas Workforce Commission for many years, investigating unemployment claims, and has also investigated emergency situations with Children's Protective Services. She is an active volunteer with the American Red Cross in disaster services, and with Habitat for Humanity. For many years she volunteered with Crisis Hotline.
Ms Van Houte wants to improve the infrastructure in north Pasadena, and address issues concerning the quality of the neighborhoods.
