Holiday Lighted Parade is bigger and better than ever
Dec 03 2015 - 01:24:00 pm
On Saturday, Dec. 5, a section of one of Pasadena’s busiest roads will be filled with a different kind of traffic: lighted parade entries from community groups, businesses and organizations. Together with the Strawberry Festival, the City of Pasadena will host its annual Holiday Lighted Parade beginning at 7 p.m.

This year will be the biggest parade yet. More than 50 entries will be featured in the parade, and awards will be given out in eight categories, including best overall, best lighted entry, most holiday spirit and most unique.

The parade will begin at the intersection of Fairmont Pkwy. and Pansy St., then will travel along Fairmont to Watters, make a U-turn and go back to Pansy. The route was modified from last year’s event, in order to better accommodate the increasing number of both entries and spectators.

Pasadena residents and people traveling in the area should take note that Pansy St. will be closed from Keith to Fairmont beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday. In addition, Fairmont Pkwy. will be closed on Saturday, beginning at approximately 6:45 p.m. Both streets will reopen after the conclusion of the parade.

The Holiday Lighted Parade has been an annual tradition in Pasadena since 2007 and has grown steadily, now drawing more than 50 entries and thousands of spectators each year.
