Dispose of medications safely & anonymously at the Rx Drug Take Back on April 29
Apr 18 2017 - 03:25:00 pm
Help prevent pill abuse and ensure that medications are disposed of safely by dropping off any unwanted medications at Pasadena’s upcoming Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, April 29.

The event is free and completely anonymous; no questions asked. It will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Pasadena ISD’s Summit (1838 E. Sam Houston Pkwy – near the intersection of the Beltway and Red Bluff Road).

The Prescription Drug Take Back Day is hosted through a partnership between the Pasadena Police Department, the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), Pasadena Independent School District and the Bay Area Council on Drugs and Alcohol (BACODA).

The event was created to help address prescription drug abuse, which has become a serious problem. Every day, approximately 2,000 teens abuse prescription drugs for the first time, and most abused prescription drugs come from family and friends’ homes. The Prescription Drug Take Back Day helps keep those prescription drugs out of the hands off kids, off the streets and out of our waterways.

At the event, prescription and over-the-counter medications can be dropped off in their containers or emptied into one of the receptacles at the site. Everything will be kept completely anonymous, and blank labels will be available for anyone concerned about protecting their privacy. The service is anonymous, free and easy – all you have to do is pull up in your vehicle and drop off the medications you’d like to dispose of.

The Prescription Drug Take Back Day is a free event. Everyone in the community is encouraged to take advantage of this important service, which only takes a few minutes. For more information, see the event flyer.
