Pasadena Animal Shelter in the running for $100,000 prize
May 30 2014 - 12:14:00 pm
The City of Pasadena Animal Shelter is one of only 10 shelters in its division to vie for a top prize of $100,000 in the ASPCA / Rachael Ray Challenge. The Challenge gives participating shelters a chance to win the top prize as well as other prizes by topping their previous year's pet adoption levels.

The Challenge runs from June 1 to August 31 with a big kick-off event this weekend to set the pace for the remaining Challenge. With adoption fees cut for both dogs and cats, special discounts for seniors, public safety employees and members of the military, this three-month period is the perfect time to brighten your life with a great pet from our shelter. Even with the discounted prices, spay or neutering, rabies shot, micro chipping and the first round of vacinations are included. Those who adopt dogs will need to purchase a $10 City license.

Join the staff this weekend for the big kick-off, enjoy popcorn and snow cones, have your picture taken next to their 25' inflatable pooch...and be sure to take a look around the shelter. There's bound to be a perfect companion just waiting for the chance to be your new best friend.

You can get more information, directions to the shelter and download applications to get started here.
