The City of Pasadena is now offering dog training classes for all breeds of dogs. The classes will be held on Wednesday nights at Campbell Hall, starting on July 8. For the first session, two different classes will be offered.
S.T.A.R. Puppy is a six-week obedience class specifically designed for puppies between the ages of 3-9 months. The class will be held from 6-7 p.m. every Wednesday through August 12. The cost is $80, plus a $10 test fee. All puppies adopted from a shelter
or rescue will receive a 10 percent discount off of the cost of the class.
For dogs that are slightly older (6 months and up), there will be a Pawsitive Basics class starting the same night. It will be held from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Campbell Hall, beginning March 26 and running through April 30. The cost is $100, with dogs adopted from shelters or rescues receiving a 10 percent discount.
In the future, the City also plans to offer A.K.C. Canine Good Citizen classes and A.K.C. Community Canine classes, in which dogs can earn an award or title.
All classes will be held at Campbell Hall, which is located at 7600 Red Bluff (part of the Pasadena Convention Center and Fairgrounds). For more information or to sign up, please call the Parks & Recreation Department at (713) 475-7048 or stop by the office at 3111 San Augustine.
