Between them, they have countless hours of charitable work and a long list of affiliations with churches, universities and community service groups. Their ages range from 64-94 years old.

They are the contestants in the 2017 Ms. Pasadena Senior Pageant.

The ladies will compete for the crown on Thursday, April 27 at the Pasadena Convention Center (7902 Fairmont Pkwy). The event, which is hosted by the City of Pasadena’s Madison Jobe Senior Center and sponsored by Cigna, begins at 7 p.m. Over the course of the evening, the women will face-off in talent, interview, philosophy of life and evening gown competitions.

At the end of the evening, a new Ms. Pasadena Senior will be crowned. With the title comes a $500 cash prize, a specially-designed pendant valued at more than $2,000 from Frank’s & Sons Jewelry and other prizes. The new queen will also represent the city at community events throughout the year.

The pageant will also feature a full line-up of entertainment. Appearing as Master of Ceremonies will be voice impressionist, comedian, film and television actor and Grand Ole Opry entertainer, Mr. Johnny Counterfeit, who has performed at the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman and countless stages around the country, including the White House. Also appearing will be Jerry Locke and his band, the Hat Creek Cowboys, as well as comedian Booger Lee.

The pageant is hosted by the Madison Jobe Senior Center, which offers a wide variety of classes, exercise programs, special events, day trips, presentations, dances and other activities throughout the year for people who are 50 or older.
