Santa Claus will visit Pasadena neighborhoods this weekend
Dec 12 2016 - 04:52:00 pm
Santa Claus is coming to town! But this weekend, his mode of transportation won’t be a sleigh with reindeer; he’ll be coming on a firetruck, escorted by members of the Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department.

Firefighters from each of the City’s nine fire districts will cover streets and neighborhoods in their district on Saturday, Dec. 17 and, if needed, Sunday, Dec. 18. Because there are differences in the sizes of each fire district, there are no set times for the visits, but typically, the districts get started sometime around dark or late in the afternoon (around 3 p.m.).

Even without a definite start time, when the fire trucks get close to each neighborhood, kids are usually aware of it. The trucks’ lights will be flashing and their sirens will go off, as Santa and the firefighters make their way down the street passing out candy.

Pasadena Volunteer Fire Department has been hosting the event for more than 25 years, and it has become a favorite tradition for both residents and firefighters.
