May 13 2016 - 05:04:00 pm
The City's annual Community Safety Fair and Hurricane Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pasadena Convention Center.

The event, which is hosted by the City of Pasadena and the Southeast Regional Local Emergency Planning Committee, will feature health and safety booths with information on things like fire safety, crime prevention, swimming pool safety, child internet safety, sheltering in place and chemical release safety. And at 1 p.m., there will be a special presentation by KTRK ABC-13 Chief Meteorologist Tim Heller, who will give a hurricane season forecast and tips on how to prepare for it.

And although the goal of the event is to give people information to help keep themselves and their families safe, it is also designed to be a day of fun for the whole family.

Guests can enjoy free hot dogs and soft drinks, while supplies last. There will also be door prizes throughout the day and displays of fire trucks and other emergency equipment, including a JAWS of Life demonstration.

Admission to the Safety Fair & Hurricane Workshop is free. Everyone in the community is invited and encouraged to attend the event. The Pasadena Convention Center is located at 7902 Fairmont Parkway. For more information, contact (713) 475-5588.
