Dec 02 2015 - 12:13:00 pm
The annual Christmas Tree Lighting will be held on Friday, Dec. 4 beginning at 6 p.m. on the front lawn of City Hall (1211 Southmore).

The event will kick-off with Santa & Mrs. Claus turning on the Christmas lights, including the lights on the tree in front of City Hall. Entertainment throughout the evening includes numerous performances by school choirs and dance teams.

Kids can visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus and take photos, while enjoying all of the custom-made light features on the front lawn of City Hall. There will also be hayrides, games, a photo booth, vendors and free face painting. The Circle of Trees, which features one-of-a-kind decorated trees by local non-profit organizations, will also be on display.

Guests can enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, and a variety of food vendors will be selling other concessions at the event.

At approximately 8 p.m., the Christmas movie classic, “A Christmas Story” will be shown on an outdoor movie screen. Guests who stay for the movie are welcome to bring blankets, bean bags and chairs.

Admission to the Christmas Tree Lighting is free. For more information, visit the City website.
