This weekend's Strawberry Festival events are the cherry on top

The Pasadena Strawberry Festival will be held this weekend at the Pasadena Convention Center & Fairgrounds. The annual event, which is being held for the 42nd consecutive year, features entertainment for the all ages, including: concerts, carnival rides & games, an adventure zone for kids, a barbecue cook-off, a 160-team mud volleyball tournament, wine tastings, magicians & other entertainers, 300 vendors and much more.

 

One of the most popular attractions each year is the World’s Largest Strawberry Shortcake, which last year weighed in at more than 21,000 lbs. and spanned more than 2000 sq. feet.

 

With two stages for musical performances, the Strawberry Festival will also feature a full line-up of concerts throughout the weekend. The concerts on the main stage are:

 

            Wade Bowen                           Friday, 8:30 p.m.

            Granger Smith                         Friday, 10:30 p.m.

            Jason Eady & Adam Hood          Saturday, 8:30 p.m.

            Turnpike Troubadours               Saturday, 10:30 p.m.

            7Eventh Time Down                 Sunday, 2:30 p.m.

            Building 429                             Sunday, 4 p.m.                       

 

Admission is $15 per adult, $5 per child (ages 5-12; kids 4 and under are free) and $5 for senior citizens (55 and older). Proceeds from the Strawberry Festival are used for scholarships for local students and to support community projects. This year alone, the Strawberry Festival has awarded more than $60,000 in scholarships and will donate more than $40,000 to non-profit community groups.

 

The Pasadena Strawberry Festival will be held Friday, May from 15 from 3 p.m. to midnight; Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to midnight; and Sunday, May 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The event is held at the Pasadena Convention Center & Fairgrounds, located at 7902 Fairmont Pkwy.
